Welcome to Day 27 of our 30 day celebration of the 5th Anniversary of
Giving Thanks: The Art of Tithing, by Paula Langguth Ryan – where we’re answering 30 questions about tithing!
I just downloaded your Heal your relationship to Money PDF. Thanks! My situation is I am a freelance Graphic artist who has had work up and down my whole life. I am dying to get steady work, as I am now 40 years old and am married. I would love to live in abundance, and treat me and my wife generously. But, it seems that no matter what I do – sending out resumes, going on interviews, studying to improve my skills, praying, tithing — I still just get bits of work here and there. How do I break this curse and live and love life again? Thanks you from the bottom of my heart! — Andrew
Many thanks for kind words about Heal Your Relationship with Money.
First, start eliminating the phrases like “had work up and down” and “dying to get steady work” and “just get bits of work here and there” from your vocabulary. Declare that, beginning today, you will start to live abundantly with what you have on hand. Start treating yourself and your wife generously, with what you have on hand. Think outside the box. If you want to bring your wife fresh flowers, for example, find someone who has a garden who will exchange fresh flowers for a little weeding, or go to somewhere like Aldi’s where you can get a generous dozen roses for less than $5, and so on.
Start giving thanks for each and every piece of work you get and the income that comes in from that work. Tithe as a way of saying “thank you” for whatever that amount was that you received.
With every resume you send out, affirm: the right and perfect outcome is occurring in this situation and all are prospered now. And let go of your attachment to what happens.
When you go on an interview, affirm: “I see everyone in this interview process fully and completely prospered now.” Contacts that you make may be just as abundant for your future as any job you may be offered. Remember this.
The only curse is the curse of the way you’re thinking. And only you have the ability to control your thoughts. Start taking action today to do so.
Keep me posted on your progress!
Peace and prosperity,
Paula Langguth Ryan
